Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) is pleased to announce that Marc Ferrara, President of Jobson Optical Group, and Lynn Fisher, Director of Corporate Giving for the Rosewood Corporation, have joined the foundation’s board of directors.
Ferrara is an optical industry veteran. Throughout a career that spans more than 30 years, he has gained industry-wide respect and forged solid relationships with major players including leading manufacturers and industry associations. His active involvement in the optical and healthcare community has reinforced his dedication to professionalism and education, and he is consistently recognized by various industry associations. Ferrara also has served multiple terms on the national boards of the National Academy of Opticianry and Optometry Giving Sight, among others. He also was named Prevent Blindness of America’s Person of Vision for 2021.
“My career has enabled me to learn about and support both the business and philanthropic sides of the vision industry,” Ferrara says. “I’m thrilled to join EVF’s board to help the foundation fulfill its mission of eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences.”
Fisher manages all aspects of philanthropy for the Rosewood Corporation and for the family of the company’s founder, the late Caroline Rose Hunt. She has a long history of vision advocacy work as well, including supporting research to find treatments for age-related macular degeneration with The Retina Foundation of the Southwest, establishing the Rosewood Foundation Vision Center at Healing Hands Ministries, and funding operational support for EVF’s Kids Vision for Life program.
“Mrs. Hunt’s personal experience with macular degeneration is the driving force behind our foundation’s efforts to ensure everyone has easy access to quality vision care,” Fisher says. “I look forward to serving on EVF’s board and helping the foundation continue to make a difference for the millions of our neighbors who need vision care but can’t get it.”
“We are delighted to have Marc and Lynn join our board,” says Board Chairman Kevin Rupp. “Their extensive experience enables us to continue to build a board with diverse expertise, and further strengthens our ability to create awareness of the impact of uncorrected vision — especially in children — and to ensure access to those in need. Marc and Lynn will also help us increase the impact of the foundation toward our mission.”
