My accounts say this is a great way to get involved in the community regardless of whether they already participate in charitable activities or not.” That’s how Walman Optical Account Manager Jennifer Felix describes the response she’s getting from customers about Walman’s new Kids With a Vision program.

Kids With a Vision raises funds to provide vision services to children in need. For every pair of digitally surfaced lenses treated with non-glare treatment produced by Walman Optical labs purchased by participating eye care professionals through December 31, 2019, Walman will donate $5.00* to Essilor Vision Foundation, a non-profit organization that strives to give children a brighter future by helping them see the world clearly. The funds raised through Kids With a Vision will support the organization’s efforts to provide vision care for children in underserved communities in the U.S. who otherwise would not receive crucial vision exams and glasses.

“I find lots of practices struggle with finding something philanthropic they can do,” Jennifer continues. “Some are held back from charitable giving because they don’t know where to start. This is an easy way for them to start and they get to see the impact up close and personal. Our world can be so negative right now, so to be able to come in with something that is so positive and uplifting really helps to solidify existing relationships and gives us a reason to have a more in-depth conversation with accounts that aren’t using us yet.”

Jennifer says that while her customers currently are reporting marginal growth in sales due to their participation in Kids With a Vision, “There is tremendous growth in the ‘warm fuzzies.’ They’re experiencing wonderful community building in the practices between the doctors, opticians and staff, and with patients.”
