The Mission Continues
Essilor Vision Foundation | January 2021

THE MISSION CONTINUES

The year is off to a quick start for Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) and we continue to focus on our mission to eradicate poor vision and its lifelong consequences.

Like many of you, the EVF team adjusted to a different daily schedule last year and became all too familiar with phrases like “you’re on mute” and “unprecedented times.” We updated processes, became more efficient as we navigated new guidelines, and launched new initiatives.

We are optimistic as 2021 gives us the opportunity to help kids whose needs have only increased during the last year.  Read more about how EVF made a difference in 2020 and continue on this journey with us to raise awareness and increase access to vision care for children in need.

THESE SUPERHEROES WEAR MASKS

Kids Vision for Life team

EVF’s Kids Vision for Life program has already held 11 vision clinics this January and served 322 students in need.

The hardworking and dedicated team of superheroes developed a new digital scheduling and consent process to help adhere to physical distancing guidelines and continued to provide vision care where possible.

These successful clinics help us remain optimistic about what this year will bring for the children who need these services most.

THANK YOU ESSILOR OF AMERICA & LUXOTTICA

Essilor and Luxottica

Essilor Vision Foundation is thankful for our major donors whose support enables our mission of eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences. This year, in lieu of supporting EVF’s 2020 Golf Classic (cancelled due to COVID precautions), Essilor of America and Luxottica North America each made a significant contribution of $50,000 in 2020 to help EVF provide essential vision care to people in need around the country.

Essilor of America is EVF’s founding sponsor and also supplies lenses and related services at no cost to EVF and the people it serves. Because of Essilor’s generosity to EVF, over 1.5 million pairs of glasses have been provided to people in need since 2007.

Rick Gadd
“We are powerful advocates for the cause of vision and we know that to truly make progress toward solving America’s vision care crisis, we need to work together. That is why we are proud to support EVF’s efforts to improve lives by improving sight.”
– Rick Gadd, President, Essilor North America
Fabrizio Uguzzoni
“As a leader in the industry, Luxottica is committed to creating broader access to and awareness around the importance of quality vision care. We are proud to advocate for sight across the globe with partners like EVF to help people in need receive the life-changing benefits of good vision.”
– Fabrizio Uguzzoni, President, Luxottica Wholesale North America
